Fabric requirements:
1 1/3 yards of white fabric
1 yard of light blue fabric
1/2 yard of turquoise fabric
1/2 yard of dark blue fabric
1/2 yard of red fabric
white:
- cut 9 @ 13.5" x 13.5"
- cut 4 @ 4.5" x 8.5"
colors:
- cut the light blue:
3 @ 15" x 15" - cut the turquoise:
2 @ 15" x 15"
and 4 @ 4.5" x 4.5" - cut the dark blue:
2 @ 15" x 15"
and 4 @ 4.5" x 4.5" - cut the red:
2 @ 15" x 15"
Sewing directions:
- Use the 4 white 4.5" x 8.5" pieces with the 4 turquoise 4.5" x 4.5" pieces and the 4 dark blue 4.5" x 4.5" pieces to construct 2 turquoise and 2 dark blue flying geese blocks using the stitch and flip method taught here.
- Use the remaining 9 pieces of white fabric and 9 pieces of colored fabric to construct the remaining geese using the two squares method taught here. Trim each to 4.5" x 8.5"
- Sew all the individual flying geese blocks into sets of 2 matching blocks, each measuring 12.5" x 12.5". You should have 6 light blue sets, 5 turquoise sets, 5 dark blue sets and 4 red sets
- Sew together the blocks as shown in the diagram above.
